Describe the problem

Auto-update fails because it gets a 404 http error, because the urls are wrong, atleast i do think thats causing it.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Have version 0.61.0
  2. Configure management to update to either latest or to version 0.61.1
  3. Observe the windows log
  4. See error %programdata%/Netbird/tmp-install/result.json
  5. {"Success":false,"Error":"download failed after retry: unexpected HTTP status: 404","ExecutedAt":"2026-01-03T14:00:18.7222347+01:00"}

Expected behavior

A auto update of the version to 0.61.1

Are you using NetBird Cloud?

I am using self-hosted version.

NetBird version

Management is 0.61.1
Client is 0.61.0

Is any other VPN software installed?

  • Reviewed client troubleshooting (if applicable)
  • Checked for newer NetBird versions
  • Searched for similar issues on GitHub (including closed ones)
  • Restarted the NetBird client
  • Disabled other VPN software
  • Checked firewall settings
