Hi,

Recently, I installed Netbird on several servers and multiple laptops to securely access services.

Everything works well, but on public Wi-Fi, it seems that the connection in shopping malls forces the use of the public Wi-Fi's DNS.

Is there a way to automatically enforce Netbird's DNS?

Netbird works perfectly on corporate networks, home networks, or 4G.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @pferrer-pdpaola,
What operating system are you using (or have tested)? If Linux, what application do you use for DNS management? Could you share how the DNS configuration on the machine looks like if connected to the public wifi?

Hi @pascal-fischer

Thank you for you reply.

In this problem it is Windows 10 and Windows 11 with the latest updates installed. The network interface on the clients is set to obtain the IP and nameserver dynamically.

I installed netbird in 91 peers and i only have problem with 2 laptops. One in Manchester(uk) and the other on Lyon.

I have seen that the computer in France at his house has also had problems with a Freebox router.

I haven't had problems in Spain, the UK, France, or the USA. The issue in these cases is that it doesn't resolve the pdp.local domain, but it did on 89, and I was able to update Active Directory users correctly.

@pferrer-pdpaola is this still an issue for you in the latest NetBird version?

I haven't updated the Netbird server in a couple of weeks, but I haven't had any complaints from users in months.
