Describe the solution you'd like
I am considering buying an openwrt compatible router and have netbird installed on it and connect it to one of my exit nodes. Is this possible with the current version of netbird on openwrt?

That is possible. See the packages: https://github.com/openwrt/packages/tree/master/net/netbird
