Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I want to be able to deploy this to clients however my hesitation is that I wont have a dependable way to update end client devices.

Describe the solution you'd like
Some method to either trigger an update remotely or set the device to automatically update when a new release comes out.

Describe alternatives you've considered
I've considered using Winget or UniGet but they don't seem to reliably update the netbird client.

I have the same issue, not just with Netbird but lots of apps that require admin-rights to update.

Would publishing via the Microsoft Store be an option for Windows users? Seeing more and more FOSS available officially via it.

I also see plenty of peer machines running old versions of NetBird frequently as users generally don't update the client.

Thanks for the clarification—I didn’t mean to frame it as an either-or choice. My main point is that automatic updates are what really matter; whether they come through an app-store build or a regular download mirror isn’t important to me. Ideally, we’d have both distribution options available so users can pick their preferred channel while still benefiting from seamless auto-updates.
