objectiondecroissance (dot) org used to be the website of a french de-growth NGO called "Association d'éducation populaire du Réseau de l'Objection de Croissance" [1]
After its expiration, the specialized company "DropCatch" acquired the domain [2].
That domain now has a slick website with AI-generated articles, on the theme of renewable energy.
For instance, AI-detection tools reports an article [3] is AI-generated with high confidence : 89% according to zerogpt.net and 93% according to zerogpt.com.
The publisher, who provides no information about himself in the legal notices, created a site with a similar theme to that of the original association. He generates an RSS feed with an identical URL to the old site to snatch people who subscribed to the old site.
This is immoral. While I'm not a member of this NGO, I suspect they wouldn't like this, given the environmental and energy cost of LLMs.
