Describe the problem

Netbird was not able to start, the ui was showing connecting for a brief moment and then it just disconnected. I think this was the broken DNS again, as before, as the domain was not resolvable properly, but the register I used to delete was not there, so I don't know.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start netbird
  2. Start it again
  3. Repeat

Expected behavior

Netbird connects

Are you using NetBird Cloud?

Self hosted instance.

NetBird version

0.38.2

Is any other VPN software installed?

No.

Additional context

If the issue is the same as before (#2895), I would like to know the workaround (like deleting the registry).

Have you tried these troubleshooting steps?

  • Checked for newer NetBird versions
  • Searched for similar issues on GitHub (including closed ones)
  • Restarted the NetBird client
  • Disabled other VPN software
  • Checked firewall settings

Just upgraded in Fedora 41, the service fails to start. Downgraded to netbird-0.38.1 and it is fine again now.

I've upgraded again today, there was a 0.38.2-1 (new package apparently, with -1 suffix), it's working again with newest version properly for me.
