The new icons are a great idea for conveying information on status and connectivity, but an up arrow can be confused with uptime, VPN is up, connection to “cloud”, etc, and more than once I heard people confusing this.

I believe using the red/greed bubbles might be clearer, or tick/cross.

Connected, Update Available: ✅⬆️
Not Connected, Update Available: ❌⬆️

The main idea is to also symbolize “not connected”

Describe alternatives you've considered
bubbles, but I think they have been used too much and are not as appealing 🟢🔴

I don’t think the update icon needs to be displayed all the time as an indicator, since some people don’t really care about it. As long as the app is working well, we don’t necessarily need the upgrade.

@cethol if updating means improved security that is important even if the app works well. Instead I suggest making a notification or similar when connecting that an update is available.
